ARISE AFRICA FASHION WEEK: DAY 2 - - TIFFANY AMBER (NIGERIA)

TIFFANY AMBER (ARISE AFRICA FASHION WEEK 2009)

tiffany amber's collection featured signature gowns including beaded and embroidered brights, paisley print dresses, and more subdued choices for the more reserved. her incorporation of denim was particularly interesting as she infused a staple piece with doses of playfulness and modernity for the lady who likes to shake things up. we also noticed an emphasis on belting when necessary and a relaxed fluidity for those low maintenance days when a maxi dress and mascara are all a woman needs. remarkably, her entire collection was devoid of african print and focused instead on a wide range of options that take you from your resort vacation to being the center of attention in a room full of people. a case of making sure there's something for everyone, perhaps? quite possibly so.

I really like Tiffany Amber's collection although I must say some of the pieces look eerily familar-
Picture #1- Sue Wong Spring 2009
Picture #3- DVF Spring/Summer 2008
Picture #4- Milly Resort Collection Spring 2009
Picture #5 Monique Lhuillier- I forget the season.

I'm sure it's purely coincidence but couldn't help noticing the distinct similarities.

Lol @ anonymous

If you look at the whole collection you will see even more "familiar" pieces. (bcbg, lacroix etc)

Tiffany Amber is the ABS( american brand that sells designer knockoffs) of nigeria but she gets hailed as a super creative designer because most of the press and population are pretty ignorant about where she gets her "inspiration" from.
Those that do know dont say anything because they dont want to incur her wrath.

She had to rein in the copying for her n.y. show because she knew it would be noticed, hence the lacklustre performance, but now she is back on african soil she can borrow to her hearts content. lol!
