Spotlight: Boxing Kitten S/S 2011

We've always been fans of the Boxing Kitten aesthetic. Print on print done in a way that's instantly recognizable is what most thrills us about them and their latest collection tows the same line but shakes things up a little. For spring 2011, there's an assortment of cutout pieces, leopard trims, rompers, dresses...heck, even pedal pushers make the cut! What most stands out, however, is their incorporation of kente & the way it works so well side-by-side ankara -- definitely unique and charming.

Who Wore What: Solange in Jewel by Lisa and Boxing Kitten

We stumbled on sneak peeks from the next edition of Fashizblack Magazine, featuring the very cool Solange and some very cool signature pieces from two designers we've featured over and over again - Jewel by Lisa and Boxing Kitten. In the first look (above), Solange wears a pair of embellished Jewel by Lisa shorts similar to a pair we first saw on the Arise Africa Fashion Week runway last year. In the second photo (below), Solange wears a Boxing Kitten piece from the brand's recent Resort 2010 collection. Many of you will recall that Solange loves her some Boxing Kitten so no surprise here! Oh, we hear Poodle Pusher styled this shoot, which makes us all the more eager to see the full spread in its full glory. Stay tuned!

Who Wore What: Beyonce in Boxing Kitten's "Kitt" Shorts

Beyonce's vacation in St. Tropez has been the toast of the Press over the last few days and has given bloggers much fodder to dissect. Today, we spotted Beyonce mixing and matching quite a few prints but it was her Boxing Kitten "Kitt" shorts that caught our eyes. The style's from BK's Spring 2009 debut collection. Notice the fabric-covered buttons on the sides? Nice touch!

Some of you will remember Beyonce wore Boxing Kitten on the set of Alicia Keys' "Put it in a Love Song" video this summer.

Who Wore What: Estelle and Solange in Boxing Kitten

What a year it has been for Boxing Kitten! Their emergence as one of the go-to brands for unique African Print couldn't have come at a better time, with Spring/Summer 2010 unofficially called the "All Africa Everything" season. So who's wearing Boxing Kitten this time?

Estelle was spotted several weeks ago at the launch party of Boxing Kitten's latest collection in a BK piece [see photo above]. More recently, she was spotted performing in South Africa after the opening game (South Africa vs. Mexico) and she wore a BK Frida jumpsuit [click to purchase]:

Boxing Kitten has found a winning formula for what works and continues to recruit more disciples season after season. The photos from their latest Resort 2010 Lookbook showcase the most simple but  covetable pieces in vivid colors accessorized with African Print shoes from Osborn Design. We're absolutely in love.

Who Wore What: Alicia Keys + Beyonce in Boxing Kitten

We caught stills from the "Put It On A Love Song" [Alicia Keys ft. Beyonce] shoot and immediately knew the bright african print pieces were Boxing Kitten originals. Kudos to Maya Lake of Boxing Kitten for creating a fabulous, instantly recognizable brand and for getting her name and work out there. Both ladies look FANTASTIC and this can only signal bigger and better things for the brand. Some of you may recall that Solange wore two Boxing Kitten pieces recently. With spring kicking in and african print/tribal being one of the main attractions, will 2010 be Boxing Kitten's biggest moment yet?
